What is an E-Book?

  • actual published books not an internet source
  • 24/7 access from anywhere
  • Fully searchable

Once you click on the title of an E-Book you will see a series of links - click "Access for Northwest Vista".  Off-campus you will be prompted to enter your PALS ID and your original PALS password.

FAQs

The NVC library doesn't have the book/periodical I need. How can I get it from another library?

  • If the item is available at another AC library (San Antonio College, St. Philip's College, Northeast Lakeview, or Palo Alto College), you may go there to borrow it using your student ID. OR
  • The NVC library will request it for you and it will be delivered by courier to the NVC library in 3 - 4 days.

The book/periodical isn't available at any AC library. What do I do now?

  • If we can identify another San Antonio area library that does own the item, we may issue you a TexShare card so that you may borrow it yourself. Contact the reference librarian for more details. OR
  • For assistance in locating materials outside the district, contact the reference librarian.
