Library Catalog

 

The library catalog lists books, electronic books, and AV materials held by  the NVC library and all Alamo Colleges. 

It is available 24/7 from the library website.

Present a current student ID, or picture ID to check out items. Up to 10 items may be checked out.  Books and CD’s must be returned in 14 days. Videos and DVD’s must be returned in 7 days.

 

Online Databases

 The library provides access to online databases on a variety of topics for academic researchThe databases are available 24/7 from the library website. They are listed alphabetically and by subject. They contain:

  • articles from journals, magazines and newspapers,

  • book chapters

  • statistics

  • evaluated websites

  • video clips

  • primary sources  

 Off-Campus Access is available 24/7. Login with PALS user name and original password.

 
 

Citing Sources

Noodletools is a cool software that will create citations in either MLA or APA styles and exports the citations with correct punctuation and formatting as a Word document.

 

Wireless laptops

 

In addition to computer stations in the library, several laptop computers with print capability are available for use in the library. A picture ID is required to check out a laptop

 

Research Guides

Research Guides for various topics have been created to help with finding books, articles, web sites, citing sources, etc.  The Research Guides are located in the left column of the library website.
