Introduction to the Library 

A librarian is available to help you with your research needs and guide you in using print and online resources.  Visit the Reference Desk, call 486-4513, or email us at nvc-library@alamo.edu

Some instructors place course materials such as textbooks and articles on library reserve for their students.  You may ask for these items at the Circulation Desk. You can check out reserve items for 2 hours use in the library. 

NVC faculty, staff and students may borrow up to 5 items from other Alamo Colleges  libraries. An Alamo Colleges Courier will deliver the item(s) to the NVC campus within 2 to 4 days.

You may borrow up to 5 books not owned by the Alamo Colleges  by filling out an Interlibrary Loan form at the Reference Desk. The books(s) will usually arrive within 10 to 14 days.

 The Alamo Colleges libraries belong to TexShare, a consortium of Texas academic and public libraries. Most San Antonio area academic libraries are members. A TexShare card can be obtained at the Reference Desk.

 Printing is available. There is a 10 page limit .

There are two copiers located in the library. The cost is 10 cents per page.
