Vista Veterans Library

A guide to the Vista Veterans Library located in RLC 113.

Purpose

The NVC Library Veterans Room is provided  to Veterans to enhance the Academic learning environment for study, research, and information needs.

Who can use the Vista Veterans Library?

 

The NVC Library Veterans Room is designated for use by Military members  of the U.S. Air Force, Marines, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, Space Force, Air National Guard, Army National Guard, and all Reserve components. Use of the room is also extended to current Active Duty and Reserve status students.

Vista Veterans Library Room Use Rules

  • The Vista Veterans Library is Library space reserved for use by those who are U.S. military veterans in any branch of the U.S. Armed Services:  U.S. Air Force, Marines, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, Space Force, Air National Guard, Army National Guard, and all Reserve components. Use of the room is also extended to current Active Duty and Reserve status students.

  • Patrons may be asked for proof of veteran status by the Librarian or Circulation Supervisor if deemed necessary.

  • The Vista Veterans Library will house a collection of materials appropriate to Veteran topics. These materials may be retrieved and used or borrowed by any library user.

  • Customers must adhere to posted room capacity guidelines. Maximum capacity for the Vista Veterans Library is 10 persons.

  • Trained service dogs are allowed in the Vista Veterans Library.  A dog mat and dog treats are available in the room.

  • Vista Veterans Library space is available only during Library hours.

  • Library furniture may be rearranged. However, furniture must be returned to the original configuration at the end of use. No additional furniture may be added to the room without the approval of the Library Director or a Supervisor.

  • Food and beverage rules of the Library apply to the Vista Veterans Library. Beverages in closed containers are permitted in the space.

  • To preserve the welcoming nature of the Vista Veterans Library, the door must remain open at all times.
