Library Mission Statement

The Northwest Vista College Library supports the mission of the college by providing:

  • a comprehensive information literacy program that teaches students research skills for lifelong learning;
  • a diverse print and online collection that enhances the curriculum of the college;
  • a quality environment that is conducive to studying and learning.

The main goal of the Northwest Vista College (NVC) Library is to enhance student success and equity to credible resources. This is achieved by offering access to physical and digital resources necessary for academic studies and supporting the diverse needs of the NVC community. Aligned with NVC College's mission and goals, the library faculty and staff aim to foster information literacy, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. The library accomplishes this by providing comprehensive access to a wide range of print, electronic, and multimedia materials, information literacy services, and educational support. This enables students, faculty, and staff to conduct research related to their coursework and other pursuits and empowers them with the necessary skills to effectively retrieve and access information.
